Our organization is comprised of 12 Directors elected for a two year term. The five person Executive Committee consists of the Chairperson of the Board, Past Chair, 1st Vice Chairperson, 2nd Vice Chairperson, and the Secretary Treasurer. The board meets on a monthly basis and reviews reports submitted by the Chair of the various committees. it is the mission of the Manitoba Home Builders' Association to be the voice of the residential construction industry in Manitoba; to provide a forum for the ongoing education of the membership with respect to technology and business practices; to achieve an environment in which the membership can operate successfully; and to promote affordability and choice in housing for all Manitobans.

The system we operate under is commonly known as supply management or orderly marketing.Our organization is completely funded through levies paid by registered farmers according to the number of eggs and kilograms of chicken marketed. We do not receive any government subsidies, grants, or other taxpayer monies.Our directions and policies are determined by a eight member board of directors that meets regularly. The board is made up of chicken farmers elected from each of the six chicken producing districts, and two hatching egg farmers elected to represent the hatching egg producers.The board of directors meets with hatcheries, and with provincial processors, to determine the needs of the marketplace and to set the minimum prices paid to farmers.

In the early 1950’s a few Western Canadian beekeepers had a dream – a vision to form an organization, owned by Canadian beekeepers, that would have the capability to sell their quality Canadian honey throughout the world. Bee Maid Honey commenced operation in 1954 when the Manitoba and Saskatchewan Honey Co-Operatives agreed to market all their honey jointly. In 1961, the Alberta Honey Co-op participated with the Manitoba and Saskatchewan Co-Ops through Bee Maid Honey in developing the export market, and in 1962 began full participation in both the domestic and export markets.
In 1970 the Manitoba Co-Operative purchased the assets of the Saskatchewan Honey Co-Operative and amalgamated the membership. The Alberta Honey Producers Co-Operatives purchased the Honey Division of the Central Alberta Dairy Pool, situated at Bassano, Alberta, in 1976.
