The proposed stadium would be located on top of the 6.5-acre Fountain of the Planets in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Created for the 1964 World Fair, this underutilized water feature is currently owned by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Great Ecology has performed vegetative, hydrological, and ecological assessments to inform the conceptual design of the stadium site and potential parkland replacement sites. The work includes wetland delineation, tree evaluation and survey, hydrological data collection, identification of potential federal regulatory oversight issues, and development of land use permit application materials. The team for this high-profile project includes ICON Venue Group, HR&A Advisors, SHoP Architects, and Langan Engineering.
