Established in 2000 L'ambiance Dance Centre has served thousands of clients in The Greater Toronto Area. Our mission was to create an environment for our students to learn to dance well, while meeting great new friends in a warm, friendly atmosphere. In 1996, Scoil Rince O'Ceallaigh and Scoil Rince Ni Fhearraigh joined forces to introduce The Irish Dance Studio to the York Region area. The directors, Yvonne Kelly and Joanne Vanderloo, have been involved in Irish dance since their early years of competing and then teaching in their own studios. Combined, they have been teaching Irish dancing for more than 50 years and have produced champions in Canada and the Mid-West United States, as well as North American, All Ireland and World Champion Medal Holders.
Dancing Geisha is more than a dance studio—we are a community where women break boundaries, shatter stereotypes, and reconnect with their inner goddess through the art of pole dancing and aerial sport.
OUR MANDATE is to make dance available to all who wish to pursue it: this is the guiding principle which breathes through the school. Our programs are tailored to all ages and all levels: from the very young to the pre-professional and mature student. Our highly qualified staff nurtures and encourages creative development and self-discipline, empowering their students with strong dance technique, musicality and social awareness. They are encouraged to be intelligent and honest about their dance art.Dance as a performing art is recognized at the end of year: Let's Dance Festival in June is a week-long celebration of dance and the culmination of a year of learning. Any dancer who is committed and fulfills the requirements, can take advantage of extra performance opportunities by auditioning for our annual production of NUTCRACKER, performed in December.Our students learn that dance is a communication tool and this knowledge gives them a sense of excitement about dance as creative expression. Many of our students have pursued their education in dance and choreography at professional schools and universities. Some of them have become professional artists in their own right. All have acquired a true appreciation and love for dance.
