Welcome to the Community of Norway HouseTwo communities share the name Norway House: Norway House Cree Nation and the adjacent non-treaty community of Norway House. Information within this website relates to the non-treaty community unless otherwise noted. The community of Norway House is located on the east channel of the Nelson River, approximately 29 kms North of Lake Winnipeg. Economic OverviewThe terrain, which currently severely limits economic opportunity, is primarily a granite base with little or no soil cover. Large areas are marshy and there are many small creeks, streams and rivers. Several small lakes lie in the nearby area, and much of the water-ways are dotted with Islands.Commercial fishing is conducted throughout the year. Fishers deliver their catch to the Play Green Point and Whisky Jack fish stations.Other factors in the economy are trapping and local services, as Norway House is a regional centre.
Kikiwak Inn, located on the Opaskwayak Cree Nation in Manitoba, offers northern hospitality and luxurious comfort in a beautiful setting. Our conference rooms can accommodate up to 240 people.
to RATEYOUR STAY.''I stayed at the Wheel Inn Motel for 6 nights in early May and had a wonderful stay. The staff was warm, welcoming and accommodating. From the moment I arrived to the day I left, I was made to feel at home and taken care of. No request was too large or too small.''''The room looked exactly like in the pictures clean, spacious and nicely decorated. It felt like I wasstaying in my own apartment. Towels and toiletries were always plentiful, while the amenities proed useful for a lengthy stay (fridge, hot plate, coffee maker, sink, microwave).''''Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Wheel Inn and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Having stayed in many hotels during my travels, I consider Wheel Inn exceptional value for the price I paid.''
