What is a "collar tie"?
A "collar tie" is a beam that prevents the rafters from spreading or sagging. It is a structural necessity in home-building, which provides support, balance and stability to the home's roof and framing.
What do "collar ties" have to do with us?
A collar tie is a metaphor for our approach to home renovations. We understand that the purchase of a home is an investment. We are here to support/help you fulfill your renovation goals, so you get optimal returns on that investment. We also understand that by entering your home, we are entering your personal space. We take pride in providing reliable, attentive and honest service, and we are committed to giving you balanced advice on what needs doing when, based on your budget and timeframe for completion.
WARNING: This business closed in 2017, and is no longer conducting business of any kind. The former ownership suspects that its business name and branding have since been fraudulently commandeered by unrelated individuals who are purporting to carry on both (a) unprofessional work; and (b) scams in the business’ name. Please do not contact us for business inquiries, nor accept business offers from anyone purporting to represent us at the present time. Devon Johnston, the sole proprietor of “Altitude Roofing"

While your new home is under construction, you will have the opportunity to meet a member of the Construction Team in Kanata for a guided walkthrough of your home — they’ll also answer any questions you may have.
As well, the Warranty Team in Kanata is Minto Communities’ in-house, specially created warranty program and your primary contact after you receive the keys to your new home. Our Warranty Team are experts in the standards set by Tarion, the company charged with administering the New Home Warranty Act, and governing home builders such as Minto for the province of Ontario.
