Our Governance Lorenz Sallong Church PastorI grew up in a small town where fishing in the river is survival for us--a way of living. My father taught me how to fish using hooks, nets, baskets and spear guns. When we came to Canad,a someone taught me how to use the fishing rod and reel. He also told me what fish can be caught in one place or another at a given time. I would have been wasting my time fishing for nothing if I had no one to coach me how to fish... read more We are a congregation of born-again Christian believers whose main objective is to spread the Good News and make disciples of all nations. We are formally known as Lutheran Church–Canada Financial Ministries, founded in 1983, better known by our trademark name, Lutheran Foundation Canada. The Foundation was formed to assist the member entities of Synod to manage, conserve, and be responsible for all legacies, bequests, endowments, foundations, annuity gifts, and all other trust funds of Synod. This service extends to all congregations, auxiliaries and service organizations that support the mission and ministry of Lutheran Church Canada. In the early part of this decade, it was decided to merge the District foundations into the Synodical foundation, thereby providing a single point of reference for foundation activity within LCC, improved service to individual members, and significant savings in management due to economies of scale. The Foundation's Board of Directors consists of two appointees from each District, three appointees by the Synod, and two advisory members - the President and Treasurer of Synod. In summary, the Foundation exists to support the various organizations of LCC, by soliciting major gifts for these organizations, primarily as part of an individual's Christian estate plan

Resources & Links Crestview Fellowship was a church plant by the Kleefeld EMC church in the 1960's. It all began when the Kleefeld EMC began holding Sunday School classes & DVBS ministries in the St. Charles School close to Portage Ave. where the Perimeter Highway now stands. In 1967, the first building was completed between on Hamilton Ave and Belevista. The first official pastor of Crestview Fellowship was Melvin Koop who came with his fire and passion for evangelism. Many stories can be told of those first years of Crestview as it grew in the neighborhood. But one of Mel's favorites is the faith of the people to take on a missionary lady financially when the church itself was struggling to pay all the bills. What came out of that was that God supplied all the needs of Crestview Fellowship in those days.In the early 1980's an addition was put onto the church and the old sanctuary became a gymnasium and the new sanctuary and fellowship area (lower level) were welcomed with optimism as God was blessing the faithful once again.
