I go here all the time for quality discount fabrics for personal and with work. Usually you're hard pressed to get help and the staff is grumpy. However yesterday I took my students for fabric shopping and the store was all rearranged and a very helpful and pleasant woman assisted us in Bridal. She gave us swatches right there and even helped us find particular fabrics. We went back later (after fabrics were picked from swatches) and bought fabric for class and she pleasantly greeted us! It was a nice experience. (Less one star for the old butter smell. Not their fault; connected to a bakery.)

I have been going to J. Max mechanical exclusively for over 25 years. When I purchased a new Civic in 2006, I skipped the dealership's mechanical section and stayed with J. Max. I'm a woman and all the staff are respectful. They don't talk down to me or over my head. Brought in a severely broken wrought iron patio table leg. Being cast metal, the broken area was shattered and missing pieces of metal.
They were able to weld it and restore it to new looking condition.
