In 1983 he invited his son Martin into the business and it was at this time they realized there was a niche to be filled in the fabrication side of the industry. After setting up a small fabrication facility in the back yard of their home they quickly realized they could fill that niche. It didn't take long for the new Heritage Steel Sales Ltd. to outgrow the backyard so they moved to an industrial area in Port Kells.
