Welcome to St. Joseph's Parish. We are a Roman Catholic parish in eastern Scarborough located at Highland Creek. Our parish is part of the Archdiocese of Toronto and is ministered to by the Spiritans. In 2004, we celebrated 150 years of being a community of the faithful. As a parish family, we reflect the composition of Canada, a tapestry of people from many parts of the world. Established originally to serve an immigrant population and now the spiritual home to Catholics from every continent, St. Joseph's was the first Catholic church of the Archdiocese built in Scarborough. It is the fourth oldest in the City of Toronto.
SCHC built on the initial services of our Meals-on-Wheels, home support, transportation and family support programs. We provide medical assistance through our clinics, are involved in a growing youth program and have a multitude of social support programs including a food bank.
The Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery is the home of the Buddha Meditation Centre of Greater Toronto. We offer free instructions in Buddhist meditation and teachings as preserved in the ancient Theravada tradition. We offer activities for people of all ages.
