In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act 1996, as amended, the next Municipal Election will be held Monday, October 27, 2014.Under the Act, the City Clerk is responsible for conducting the elections in the City of Pickering for the offices of Mayor, Regional Councillors and City Councillors. Additionally, the City Clerk is responsible for certain aspects of the elections of members of school boards, as set out in the Education Act and associated regulations.

Internationally award winning cake designer Lisa Bugeja started Flour Confections in 2004 designing wedding & event cakes for the Toronto area. Five years later, Lisa envisioned a need for a specialty cake decorating supply source in the East end of the city. So in 2009; laying roots in Pickering, Ontario; Lisa's husband Scott Bradley joined Flour Confections Inc. and they opened its doors to the cake decorating community. Four years later, Flour Confections Inc. has grown to a new retail location, a new warehouse, a staff of 12, a global reach and nearly 2500 products (and growing!) while still maintaining its local roots and small business approach. Lisa continues to maintain an active role in the cake community and stays current in the industry, while developing many new products which are unique to Flour Confections Inc. We pride ourselves in supporting local small businesses, working with North American vendors where we can and carrying quality name brand products.

History Walter's Today Walter's Landscaping has been creating beautiful gardens in the GTA since 1954. Fifty years later we are still family owned and operated. We have expanded from a small family operation to a full service landscaping company specializing in design and installation. Our experienced team creates and maintains a wide variety of landscapes ranging from Toronto residences to country estate properties. We service our clients through a multi-skilled design team supported by full construction and maintenance departments. We own and operate a tree farm in Newmarket where we grow a wide variety of nursery stock that we incorporate into our landscape projects. Walter Kuettel's philosophy of exceptional customer service, quality and value remains the cornerstone of our business today. In fact, this is the most important legacy Walter has handed down. Since Walter's retirement, he has remained active in the business. He consults on a regular basis for the company. More recently, he began his own perennial nursery - The Perennial Place located just outside Newmarket.

We provide agricultural inputs along with service to the maple and farming communities. Our services include education and consultation on the production practices of all agriculture. We are recognized for our integrity, straightforward advice and genuine concern about top-level customer satisfaction which is delivered in a friendly and high-spirited environment. After all, we are farmers too.
