Capulet Art Gallery is the primary representative for a number of emerging and established artists in Western Canada who specialize in abstract, contemporary and figurative art.
It all started at a bus stop in 2006 when Kevan Seng (24) met Raymond Chow (65) at a bus stop in Richmond, BC. Kevan had asked Raymond for change for a $10 dollar bill. After that, the two exchanged business cards and that's when Kevan realized Raymond was a famous artist.
A couple days later, Raymond invited Kevan to his gallery, the first one Kevan would ever visit.
As Kevan entered the space, there was a staircase with art on both sides of the walls. The art took Kevan back to the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's where drawings of buildings and cityscapes from those eras were present. Kevan was in such amazement that it took him 10 minutes to walk up a flight of 20 stairs. As he reached the top, he saw a room full of paintings. He was in awe.
That's when Capulet Art Gallery & Framing Shop was born.
For over 20 years, BASA has been helping young people to develop those skills. We help our students find their own unique voice and improve their communication skills so that success is ensured in every situation. Our program prepares students for success in all types of performances, from interviews and school projects to speeches, debates, networking and life. We live in a time with a deficit of leadership skills, and so the value placed on leadership has increased.
Built in 2001, the Bell Performing Arts Centre is owned and operated by the Surrey School District No. 36. This state of the art facility is the largest professional theatre in the Fraser Valley. With excellent sightlines, amazing acoustics and ample free parking, the Bell Performing Arts Centre is the perfect venue for dance, theatre, concerts and events of all types.
In the summer of 2003, a group of seven artists came together to open a collective gallery to have a permanent home to show and sell our work and to offer consignment space to other artists. We all pitched in to transform what was once a cafe into a gallery. The hard work paid off and in the early fall 'Arts Off Main' opened to the public. Shortly thereafter we were joined by a talented framer.
We specialize in custom picture framing and art work. We are a family operated store that has been on The Drive for 20 years. We strive to have a combination of great service, top quality framing and reasonable prices. We make a conscious effort to use wood from tree farms and local products in our framing as well as our large selection of unique greeting cards.
