When delivered to an oil or gas reservoir via one coil tubing service unit, a compound reaction ensues which creates both an exothermic and kinetic (mechanical) energy release. Ultimately the reservoir becomes sufficiently penetrated which yields a network of fissures and fractures which greatly enhance the inflow of hydrocarbons to the wellbore. No proppant is necessary as a hard (300MPa+ compressive strength), porous natural by-product is produced after the reaction which keeps the fractures open. To quantify, the affected zone measured radially from the wellbore can easily reach 180m - 365m.
