Steveston Bakery, is one of the villages of Stevenson's most popular destinations for locals and tourists alike since Hemant and Bimla Rao opened the doors in 1989. Not only is it a quaint little bakery and cafe, but it boasts some of the best homemade breads, pastries, cookies, and pies in the area at truly affordable prices. It also creates cakes for all occasions including the eggless variety for the vegetarians out there. If you need a birthday cake, wedding cake, anniversary cake, or just and everyday cake for 5 people or 200 people, Hemant and his team can put it together with loving care just for you. From Black Forrest to Diplomat, Double Chocolate, Grand Marnier, Mango Mousse, or Tiramisu, just to name a few.

Scout Magazine – launched in late 2008 by local writers/photographers Andrew Morrison and Michelle Sproule – is Vancouver's leading food and culture website. Its main objective has been the same from the start: to 'scout out' and promote the things that make Vancouver such a sweet place to be. It does this with an emphasis on the city's independent spirit to foster a sense of connectedness within and between our communities, and to introduce our readers to the people who grow and cook our food, play the raddest tunes in our better venues, create our most interesting art, and design everything from what we wear to the spaces we inhabit.
Jennifer Bell attended Dubrulle Art Institute in Vancouver and graduated in 2006 with a strong interest in pastry. She headed off to England where she worked in the world of pastries and eventually ended up in the seaside town of Brighton working in a cupcake shop. Having come full circle, she is now home, near the waterfront in Steveston village, and the proud owner of Bell's Bake Shop, which opened in December 2010. Jennifer enjoys the pleasure cupcakes bring to her customers.
