The Association of United Ukrainian Canadians has evolved through a number of organizational stages due to conditions and climate of the time. It came on the scene as the Ukrainian Labour Temple Association (1918 - 1924), followed by the Ukrainian Labour-Farmer Temple Association (1925 - 1946), the Ukrainian Association to Aid the Fatherland (1941 - 1946); and finally, the Association of United Ukrainian Canadians (1946).

Canadian Dimension is published 6 times per year, including 2 double issues. We are a magazine which shows there is an alternative to the corporate agenda and the dictates of the global market; that the dream of a better society is still alive. It provides a forum for debate, where red meets green, feminists take on socialists, socialists take on social democrats, whites hear from aboriginals, activists report from all corners of Canada, trade unionists report from the front lines, campaigns make connections, and the latest books, films, websites, CDs, and videos are radically reviewed.

Bert Scharfstein acquired Canadian Footwear Ltd. in 1932. The Winnipeg-based company has since gone through many changes - as a wholesaler from the 30s through the 50s, as a footwear discounter from the late 50s, and competing with the big box retailers through the 70s until the late 80s when Bert and his wife died nine days apart.That was when the most dramatic changes began. Bert's son Brian and his partner Pam Cipryk bought the business from the estate, but they faced a big challenge. Buying the company was the easy part. Finding the right direction for future success was more daunting.After months of analyzing Canadian Footwear, Brian experienced minor health problems. He saw a specialist who put arch supports - orthotics - in his shoes to ease some pain in his knees. That was when the light bulb went off in his head - offer additional services to better fill customers' needs.

Creating Opportunities for Canada's Field CropsFor 40 years Cigi (Canadian International Grains Institute) has worked with the agricultural community worldwide in the promotion and utilization of Canadian field crops. Cigi is an industry leader in delivering customized training programs and technical expertise and providing ongoing specialized technical support to customers around the world. Through unique projects and applied research activities Cigi is also working with industry to identify diverse applications for Canada's field crops.Cigi is a one-stop shop of technical expertise and facilities uniquely housed under one roof.
