All are welcome at our table.As well as regular opportunities for community, spiritual practice, worship and service, St.Matthew's is actively engaged with Grain of Wheat Church-Community in converting our church building into a multi-purpose complex called the WestEnd Commons. Since 1904, the parish has been under the direction of the Basilian Order of St. Josaphat. The origins of our parish date back to 1861 when Bishop Tache built a small schoolhouse on the east side of the Red River and entrusted it to the Grey Nuns, who then had a small chapel built inside the school. Since then we've grown to become a diverse community that includes the parish, a daycare, nursery school and the largest Catholic co-educational school in the Archdiocese of Winnipeg, St. Maurice.
