Come taste a delicious meal at Devil's Elbow Ale & Smoke House. Their bar is the ideal spot for after dinner drinks. They are open after-hours all week. You can get there not only by public transit but also by bicycle. The surrounding location is memorable for its restaurants, merchants and parks.
We hit Black Forg last night before the Lions game and loved their vibe. The atrium that provides over half of the seating is ideally situated at the foot of Cambie Street to provide views of the North Shore and the workd going by on Water Street. They offer a great selection of draught and bottled beer and offered a take on a Snake Bite that they should put on the menu and call the Black Frog...who knew that adding Ribena would taste so good! The wings that were hotter than hot were exactly as advertised and really tasty! The only concerns we had were with the mains we had. The steak sandwich was a bit tough to chew as a sandwich but went better when I ate it open faced. The curry and chips were kind of bland and would probably be better as an Indian curry than a Thai curry. We will try other items on our next visit. Our concerns on the food aside, we will be back because it was such a great little spot. Head over to the Black Frog next time you're looking for a fun spot to chill!Read more
Salt is a tasting room specializing in artisanal cheese, small-batch cured meats, and a dynamic array of wines, beers and sherries. Guests assemble a Tasting Plate from our chalkboard's selection of 10 cheeses, 10 meats, and 10 condiments. The wine list is dynamic and constantly evolving. Global in nature, one can always expect a sampling of vinous delights from our own backyard, or your favourite wine regions the world-over. The selections change constantly, making it almost impossible to have the same Salt experience twice.
You have to remember when going here that this is a wine tasting room, not a place to have dinner. The wine list is imaginative and approachable. The service on a good night is excellent, on a bad night is so-so, but the staff have always been very helpful with the wine choices, pairings, and flight recommendations. The food is charcuterie, not full meals. Use this place to meet up for a pre-dinner drink, or to end off the night with some wine appreciation.Read more

Anatoli Souvlaki was opened by Helen & Thomas in the spring of 1984. They had a dream of combining the food of Greece with great service to add some Mediterranean style to the North Vancouver restaurant selection. They opened in the sleepy neighbourhood of lower Lonsdale and lived above the restaurant to ensure the quality and service. They were able to create a North Vancouver staple, a successful thriving restaurant based on faithful patrons and a reputation that has been passed through generations. Continuing in this tradition, with the key focus on quality and maintaining their parent's vision, Alexi and Iani have successfully taken over the Anatoli's and have brought the restaurant to a whole new level. Anatoli's is able to deliver the time honoured tradition of friends, family and food. Benefiting from years of experience in Canada and Greece, they combine the core value of home cooked meals and have mastered the perfect concoction of taste and style.
Anatoli is our all-time favorite greek food restaurant. We have never been disappointed in the quality of the food whether it is dine-in or a Skip-the-Dishes delivery to our home. The only drawback is the lack of parking in the area, but there is usually a street parking spot within a block, and its well worth the walk. Our favorites are: Spanakopita, Saganaki, Domathes, a Greek Salad; and the incredible fall-off-the-bone Country Lamb!Read more

You don't want to miss the Happy Hour BBQ course, because it's just that great. I'm not a huge fan of the chicken garlic fried noodles as the pasta was thick, but I do appreciate how the noodles were a little crispy on the outside. Service can be slow but in general the servers I've had have always been nice and willing to help, but because it's often busy, it may take a little bit longer to get you what you need. I used to be a hostess so I know how stressful it can be and they usually don't get as much credit as they deserve. Overall, still the great dine out!Read more

Housed in the historic Dominion Grand Hotel (est. 1899) in Gastown, this pub was renovated in 2007 and retains its original tin-stamped ceilings, exposed brick walls, stained glass windows and railings. The rest of this storied room has been given a grand renovation, including a new sound system and jukebox, classic pub furniture and flatscreen TVs. A long-time favourite Vancouver watering hole, the Lamplighter is the city's busiest pub for good reason: friendly service, honest local pub fare and a large selection of craft beer and cocktails.
Fifth Avenue Cinemas has a long standing tradition of playing the movies that rarely see more than one showing a night at the local megaplex but deserve far more. Offering a very comfortable movie viewing experience and great sound quality Fifth Avenue Cinemas is a great place to check out a movie. I notice that recently they are carrying more and more mainstream films but more often than not Fifth Avenue Cinemas is THE place to go to catch great indie movies.Read more
