Over the years of working for large Dealerships he always had people coming to him and wanting work done 'on the side'. To meet this need he worked evenings and week-ends. Given that he travelled to the customers' residence we came up with a name that depicts mobile service in 'Get-About'.As time went on he became busier and busier and was unable to meet the needs of his customer base. So, in the fall of 1997 we set up shop in the city of Winnipeg being that over 90% of our customer base was in the city. After having to relocate over the years due to rental agreements, in 2008 we were able to purchase our current building.

Brookside Auto Body was started by Tony & Margarida Cabral in the early '80's, on what was originally Brookside Blvd. Tony started working as an auto body technician when he immigrated to Canada in early '70's. After several years, Tony was determined to realize his dream of owning his own business. Since its inception the business it has grown in physical space with an additional 4500 sq. ft. and a new state of the art commercial size paint booth. Now in it's second generation the business continues to grow under the leadership of Tony's son, Gilbert Cabral.

Beacon Auto Electric Inc. was formed in the mid 1950's to help fill the demand for quality remanufactured electrical products. Over the years due to changes in the market place our customer base has shifted from supplying the local jobber and retail markets to mainly commercial fleet accounts and the heavy duty industrial sector. We have a diversified customer base including agricultural, heavy construction, mining industry and transportation trades. Our biggest support coming from the Bus industry. We are national suppliers to Greyhound Transportation Corporation. We also have a large sector of the local school bus market.Our success has come from being able to supply new and remanufactured electrical products tailored to meet the unique demands of our customers, modifying the units for the particular environment that the equipment is working in. In most cases the modifications are simple but effective. As you know by experience an o.e.m. component that has been designed for an automotive application simply cannot hold up to the rigorous demands of a commercial application
