If you have never been to the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (my friends call it short: Cooking School), well you have to try it. The restaurant is located just at the entrance to Granville Island.
I went there recently and ordered the following:
Appetizer: Red Beet / Gravad Lox ($9)
Main Course: Lamb Saltimbocca ($19)
Wine:
Hester Creek Okanagan Valley, BC Glass ($8)
This meal was a culinary delight. Pricing is very reasonable in comparison to the big names here in town.

We had a lovely table by the window so we had a nice view. Overall ambience is very bright and contemporary. To our benefit the restaurant was not that busy on a weeknight and we parked very close. The service was very good. We enjoyed their daily flatbread special and crab cakes to start. For our mains we went with halibut and osso bucco, both too were very good and cooked just right. And to finish went with a delicious choco molten cake just perfect to share.

Huge diverse selection of gear and really fulfills their title as a "skateboard superstore". This shop caters to every niche of skateboarding imaginable and the staff is very knowledgeable about all their product. Ive been a regular in the shop ever since they opened about three years ago, and love it how they always have new creative displays and murals each time I visit. Small classes, hand-on training and dedicated Chef Instructors give each student the personal attention they need to master the 'art' of cooking and baking. Students operate a bistro (Bistro 101) and bakeshop (Bakery 101). We also provide short programs to the general public that range from wine, beer, cake decorating, teen classes and everyday skills such as knife skills, bread making, stocks and sauces, etc.
