Gary Graham began driving “big trucks” in 1956, hauling gravel and cattle. In 1961, he went into business for himself with one truck and a single axle dump trailer hauling gravel and fertilizer. Gary Graham Transport was born.
In 1962 he added a second truck and put it to work as a sander for the Department of Highways in the winter. He expanded again in 1963, buying a truck to haul water and in 1964 hired his first driver. The company grew by one or two trucks a year for the next several years, still hauling gravel, fertilizer and water.
