The service here is great. I'm obsessed with the Singaporean-style slaw to the point where I've drove across the city just to get it as take out. The portion is great to save for a quick bite the next day. The tables are a bit close together in the room off the main room but the attentiveness of the servers makes up for it! Read more
Affordable, reliable Chinese comfort food is always on offer at this Kensington Market standard, where the décor is unadorned, the service is prompt and the food is universally hot and delicious. Mercifully, the restaurant is open until 4 in the morning, so the opportunity to close a night on the town with a plate of Peking duck - and in the company, famously, of a host of Toronto chefs grabbing a bite of their own on the way home from work.

I live near Queen and Spadina and have had some difficulty with finding decent low-medium priced sushi. Toshi is across from where I take spin class and I noticed that the sign indicated that the chef was Japanese so I decided to try it out. I found the fish to be fresh, the restaurant to be clean and the service to be attentive. They service appropriately sized rolls and nigiri, as opposed to the giant pieces that many other establishments serve (this is a good think IMO). Overall, very good meal and I think I will be frequenting Toshi a great deal. Read more
