In 1972 Mabel Dunham of Burnaby received her Bachelor of Education and Adult Education diploma at UBC; she was over sixty years of age at the time. Convinced other people her age would also be interested in furthering their education it became Mabel's mission to structure a self-help college.

The Scandinavian Community Centre is located on 4.2 acres in the heart of Burnaby. We have the space for weddings, workshops, birthdays, anniversaries, company picnics and celebrations of life.

opportunity to attend the opening ceremony and the Pran Pratistha

We have grown into a non-profit organization that provides innovative services to over 1,000 children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in Metro Vancouver.We provide a wide range of training, development, social, recreational and employment opportunities.
