A popular Italian eatery, try one of their 20 kinds of pizza available with toppings including pesto, goat cheese, grilled chicken and eggplant. sa Marcello's is located about half a block East of Dufferin St. with a small patio out front.
Our absolute favourite for authentic italian. You know the restaurant is a gem when the local Italians eat there with their whole families (babies too!). As Marcello's is always packed, go early to get a seat (especially if your party is larger than 4) or expect to wait in line at least 30 minutes or longer. Service is prompt when seated and the lively atmosphere makes it very homey. The waiters are efficient, no-nonsense and definitely not snobby(as in other places), and they know the menus. On regular nights we share an appetizer, and dessert with our meals and we are stuffed!! The tirimisu is home made and heavenly; you could easily have seconds. I have been to other restaurants on College street, and quite honestly, at Marcello's the dishes are on par and above on quality. Combine the quality of food, with good portion sizes, very reasonable pricing, and you will see why Marcello's is always packed!! Read more
Sidecar emphasises simple preparation with fresh ingredients and uncomplicated presentations. A small menu helps to ensure freshness and expedite service, elevating the overall dining experience while maintaining a focus on value. Sidecar succeeds in combining a high level of food and service not normally available at these price levels.
This was a sigularly phenomenal experience. All of our food was lick-your-plate excellent. I love their investment in local food producers. Their housemade breads, butters, pastas totally show it. We also were treated to a random complimentary amuse-bouche of a pork terrine with caramelized onions on crostini. Vanilla creme brulee was the single best creme brulee I've ever had--PERFECTLY burnt sugar. Truly amazing prices for food this good. ONLY down thought? Cocktails are expensive and taste like actual booze. Given that I'm normally a fruity liqour drinker, they were hard drinks to swallow! A connaisseur might feel differently. Fresh from the bright lights of Miami (where the concept originated and another location is set to open in the fall), Cibo glows as spacious, upscale resto with lots to offer its King West clientele. This includes an extensive wine selection, plate-exceeding pizza pies and a warm nest of house-baked bread to start the adventure. Wine bar it might be, but Cibo is a spectacular choice for lovers of traditional Italian fare. Think polenta fries, a selection of salumeria and a stracciatella soup to set your engines racing. Many of the pastas are made on the premises here, and you can see them in their nascent glory at the pasta bar.
I went to a birthday party where we had a private menu. The food kept coming and it was all very flavourful. I would definitely go back next time I am in town. Read more
On April 8, 2011 we opened Trattoria Taverniti. Each day we are in the kitchen making our pomodoro sauce, meatballs, gnocchi, lasagna, chicken eggplant parmigiana, tiramisu, and other delicious foods - all from scratch.
