May 4th & 5th, 2014University of New Brunswick, FrederictonWelcome to the 14th year of Envirothon NB. This year we are pleased to have Science East taking care of the coordinating details of the program and the year end competition that was recently held at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, during May 4th and 5th. This has been a smooth transition as the Envirothon NB Steering Committee has remained the same and in control of the program?s direction and content. This is a very exciting time for the Envirothon NB program as it can benefit from Science East?s resources.Congratulations to the new 2014 Envirothon NB Champions, the Lady Spartans from St. Stephen High School. They combined field test scores and oral presentation score led them to a 1st place finish amongst the 13 teams that competed this year. In lieu of the North American Envirothon being cancelled this summer, the team has won a 5 day trip into the UNESCO Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve along with the winning teams from Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.Lady Spartans St.
