The reservoir was formed forty years ago, with the construction of BC Hydro's W.A.C. Bennett Dam. Tours of the dam and adjacent underground powerhouse are available daily during the summer. The untouched nature around the lodge offers living space for white head eagle and osprey, beaver, Wapiti elk, white tail deer, mule deer, coyotes, wolves, moose, black, brown and grizzly bear.
