Windsor Jewish Federation and Community Centre: Windsor, Ontario, Canada. We are the southern – most city in Canada, located on the Canada-USA border, across from Detroit, Michigan. Windsor has been home to a small but vibrant Jewish community for over 100 years. Built on waves of Jewish immigration, Windsor developed into a centre of rich Jewish tradition and culture. Windsor continues to maintain a strong sense of identity, and an impressive list of diverse Jewish institutions and organizations which date back to the late 1800s.
We are a network of churches in Chatham-Kent who realize that we dramatically increase our power to do good by working together. Each member church chooses how it participates in the network, but we all seek to express love in a tangible way. We meet the needs of neighbours in our community by linking them to existing services or volunteers who can help.
The Chatham-Kent Children's Safety Village is an educational centre where children learn about safety and injury prevention in a safe and interactive environment. Statistics show that accidental injury is the leading cause of death and disability among school aged children. The Chatham-Kent Children's Safety Village can dramatically reduce injuries by teaching individual responsibility and awareness. Through hands-on training at the Village, children develop a positive attitude toward safety that will be remembered into adulthood. The facility is 7500 square feet with a 5 acre miniature village and is located in the C.M. Wilson Conservation Area.
