There are 256 beds at FH organized into eight Resident Home Areas (RHA), each with its own care centre, dining room, activity room, lounges, spa, shower rooms and balconies. FH is a five-storey building serviced by two elevators and the main entrance is on level 2. There is no smoking room at FH.
One of the RHAs is designed to meet the special needs of cognitively impaired, but physically active residents.
Resident rooms at FH are designed to promote resident comfort and privacy. Rooms are furnished with an adjustable single bed (some are electric), night table, table lamp, overhead light fixtures, spacious wardrobe, high privacy sunshade over the window and sturdy upholstered chair. Each room has windows that can be opened for those who enjoy fresh air. In addition, each resident room has independent temperature controls and the Home is fully air conditioned. An interactive call bell system is provided in the resident’s living space as well as in the bathroom.
Public Energy is an animator of contemporary dance, theatre, performance, and interdisciplinary work. We are dedicated to supporting the creation, touring, and presentation of innovative contemporary performance arts, and to developing audiences that are knowledgeable and passionate.As a presenter, Public Energy programs both well-known artists and new artists; develops audiences through a variety of activities including talks, lectures, pre-show chats, artist residencies, and curated programming; participates in national initiatives that move dance forward, such as the CanDance Creation Fund and the CanDance Touring Exchange; commissions and co-commissions new work from significant artists and commits to their presentation; serves as a venue and touring destination for artists; and supports new work and new directions for artists through residencies, and financial and administrative support.Formerly known as Peterborough New Dance, since 1994 we have presented a mainstage series of dance companies and independent choreographers drawn from across Canada, commissioned new work in concert with other Canadian presenters on the CanDance Network, and supported the development of the local dance, theatre and performance community by presenting area artists and arranging specialized classes and workshops
Established in 1960, Fairhaven is a 256-bed Long-Term Care Home offering both residential and extended care. Fairhaven is jointly owned by the municipalities of the City and County of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Residents and staff moved into the brand-new facility on January 27th, 2003.For over 50 years, Fairhaven has established itself as a viable and innovative organization that serves the people of the Peterborough region. First and foremost it is a Long-Term Care Home, owned and governed by the community and operated without reliance on operating funds from the municipality. As the needs of the community have changed, Fairhaven has responded by expanding its scope and reaching out to serve the continuum of needs in the long-term care field to individuals of all ages.
Peterborough Clinic is comprised of physicians & surgeons including family practice, medical & surgical specialists, pharmacy, x-ray, medical lab plus more services in a new building directly across from the hospital.
