Founded in 1961, CSS employs more than 1,500 people and has the support of more than 2,000 volunteers. We help people in need, regardless of religion, race, gender, ethnic origin, colour or creed, through more than 100 community-based ministries. We offer service in communities throughout central Alberta, with offices located in Edmonton, Lloydminster, Red Deer, Wainwright, and Wetaskiwin.
Life poses many challenges. Sometimes we are able to manage and cope with challenges quite well. At other times, challenges become overwhelming and turn into problems that affect our work, relationships and overall outlook on life. We are dedicated and experienced therapists with the belief that problems are a natural part of life and when dealt with in healthy ways can provide opportunities for growth and adaptation.
We also offer consultation services pertaining to Custody and Access matters, file reviews and second opinions, and employee selection and termination. A variety of groups are offered on an as-needed basis, which may include anger management, self-esteem building, teen issues, gender identity issues, depression, grieving and loss, survivors of sexual abuse, sexual offender groups and women's psychology groups.
