My daughter danced at the Walnut Grove School of Music and Dance for fifteen years. Grace experienced a wide variety of dance genres such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. The dance teachers are exceptional and along with their caring attitudes, knowledge & expertise made my daughter's experiences so memorable. I first took Polynesian damcing with Susan in 2005 and danced successfully, winning competition and participating in shows. It has been over 10 years, and Ive come back to her class again. It is so fun, and exciting and original, and I would highly recommend joining this class with Susan as your teacher. Great environment and great teacher!

If you love the music and culture from the Islands of Hawaii, Tahiti and New Zealand as we do, come and join us for lessons or event bookings. You will be able to learn all the wonderful dances from Hawaii, including hula kahika (ancient hula), hula ‘auana (modern hula with songs in Hawaiian words) and hapa haole era (hula with words in English), dances using the various Hawaiian implements as well as comedy hula no matter what your age, gender or experience level. Tahitian and dances of the New Zealand Maori are also taught, but Hawaiian is the main focus of my teaching. Understanding of the Hawaiian language, history and culture is important to a dancer and these basics will be taught as well.
We are constantly striving to give our students the best possible training so that if at some time in the future they decide to pursue a career in dance, or for the pure pleasure of learning a beautiful art form, they will have a strong understanding of technique and performance.
Dancing for Dessert Studio was founded in 2005 by long-time dance team Magda and Andrew. From a small trial program it has grown to become the ballroom dancing destination for Langley and the Fraser Valley with a team of seven instructors and hundreds of students served.
