Rachael Poirier has more than 16 years experience as a choreographer and dance instructor having trained throughout North America in cities including Vancouver, Toronto, New York and Los Angeles. Ms. Poirier founded R.P. Danzmode Productions in Vancouver, BC Canada in 1994. Many dancers from Danzmode Productions have become professional dancers working with artists such as Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Rianna, Chris Brown, Mia Michaels and Jenifer Lopez. Others have danced for prestigious Academies and Companies including the San Francisco Ballet, Washington D.C. Ballet Company and the National Ballet of Canada. Numerous students/dancers of Rachael's represented with her choreography have gone on to compete and win at the BC Provincials in the Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Musicial Theater Companies.
We have 4 air conditioned studios and offer all types of classes for both recreational as well as competitive students (aged 2-18). Most classes are 45 minutes or one hour in length, but there are some half hour classes for the younger ones. We teach from Monday to Sunday from September to June. There is a year-end show in June that all of the children participate in.

At Dancin'Stars we foster personal growth not only in dance, music and the arts but in all areas of life. Talented and professional mentors guide you through courses in acting for film, TV and stage, as well as voice, piano and guitar. Private coaching is available, as well, for audition and business preparations and life strategies.
Douglas Ballet Academy is home to the internationally acclaimed Youth Performing Company here in Burnaby. We have taught ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre and Irish dance classes to students of all ages and skill levels since 1992. EDAM is a contemporary dance company under the artistic directorship of Peter Bingham. EDAM's mandate is to provide a stable and fertile environment for the development of contemporary dance. The Company is deeply committed to the investigation of movement itself as an expressive art form. EDAM supports many possibilities for creative expression within the kinetic arts through the creation and production of choreography and through the practice and presentation of the art of improvisation. In addition to producing its own work, EDAM presents the work of guest choreographers and encourages collaborative projects with artists working in other disciplines.
