We are a learning centre helping English-speaking adults in our area tobuild their reading, writing, math, computer and employment skills.We accomplish this through our employment skills upgrading and adult literacyand essential skills programs.

The experience of A.A.® members is that alcoholism is a progressive illness that cannot be cured, but which, like many other illnesses, we can learn to live with. The Barrie Literacy Council was founded in 1979 by local Barrie, Ontario resident, Connie Morgan to assist adults improve their basic reading writing and math skills. We currently provide one-to-one tutoring and small group learning sessions. Independent students receive assistance from staff while they wait to be matched with a volunteer tutor.
