WELARC became Winnipeg's centralized language assessment office in 2007 as part of an overall immigration strategy initiated by the Government of Manitoba. As of April 2013, WELARC is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.At WELARC we know that language is the foundation for making informed decisions about education, career, and life. We also know that language is not just about words and grammar. Language skills are crucial to communicate effectively. With good communication skills, a person will have more opportunies in their personal and professional life.
The Entry program is delivered by Altered Minds Inc (AMI), a not for profit company governed by a board of directors. ContactWayfinders is a community-based mentorship program that supports the journey to high school graduation. The program currently serves students living in Winnipeg's Elwick and Watson Street neighbourhoods.
