Ken McGee's entire life has existed around the automobile. Eighty-five years ago his parents started up a Dodge-DeSoto dealership and Ken, who was the youngest of four sons, spent every hour after school and weekends at the garage. At the time old Packards, Buicks, Cadillacs, and Model T's sat all over the place. Ken would brush paint them, paint on whitewalls, etc. just for something to do. At 12 years of age he sold his first car and has never stopped since. Ken started into the dealership on the washrack, then lube bay, then parts manager, eventually becoming service manager and then sales manager. When his father passed away in 1960 four sons took over the dealership and in January of 1962 changed to a Pontiac-Buick-Cadillac-GMC franchise and have never looked back. Over the years, the other brothers were bought out and Ken became the President of the dealership, working along side his son Darcy McGee and nephew Martyn McGee (third generation). In April of 2006 McGee Motors had to opportunity to buy out the local Chevrolet Dealership, then, with the reorganization of GM in 2009, we became a Chevrolet-Buick-Cadillac-GMC dealer with a greatly enlarged territory
Sunny skies it was for the Geo-Teck Open House in July and despite the intense heat it was another successful event. Visitors and patrons dropped in to check out our many displays and product lines and while they walked around, sampled the scrumptious hot dogs, and refreshments. Many guests went away prize winners thanks to the supply of door prizes from our many corporate sponsors. The big winner of the day was Peter and Joan Karstens of Brentwood On The Beach, in St. Joseph. Peter and Joan run an upscale BandB in the area and have been long time clients of Geo-Teck, so it was a pleasure to see them win the big prizeand..$2,000.00 off their account.Hot tubs and fireplaces are always the items of interest at our Open House. Customers come to take advantage of the BIG discounts being offered that day. They are always curious too about what new products Geo-Teck are carrying and what changes have been made in the showroom. Not only the Geo-Teck sales team were on hand but Corporate representatives from Carrier, American Standard and So what was new this year? Solar energy! Geo-Teck continues to THINK GREEN and adds solar energy for those clients interested in saving money and our environment.
