Fishing Lake First Nation members can trace their origins to central Canada. We belong to the Anishnabe Nation - also referred to as the Ojibwe.Through their contact with European settlers that continued to push westward the ancestors of the Fishing Lake First Nation migrated west to avoid encroachment and finally settled in their current area.
The Parent Child Working Group of Flin Flon is a subcommittee of the NOR-MAN Regional Parent Child Coalition (NMRPCC) which is accountable to healthy Child Manitoba under the Committee of Cabinet.The Parent Child Working Group is comprised of individuals that care about children and their families. The group meets to identify needs and develop a sustainable plan to apply for funding through the NMRPCC and ultimately through Healthy Child Manitoba. The Parent Child Working Group will appoint two members as well as an alternate to sit on the NMRPCC.Members will consist of individuals from within the community who care about the health and well-being of children, youth and their families . This is consistent with Healthy Child Manitoba's vision of the best possible outcome for Manitoba's Children.
