Kingston MRI is a non-profit community MRI clinic licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. We have performed MRI scans on over 11,000 patients in the last year and over 175,000 patients since opening in 2003. We offer examinations that cover neuro, body, and musculoskeletal cases. We provide 80 hours per week of OHIP-insured MRI services. MRI services to non-OHIP-insured patients (e.g., Workers Safety and Insurance Board, Canadian Armed Forces, funded research studies, etc.) are provided outside of the core hours. All MRI services require referral from a physician licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Kingston MRI is operated by Kingston Radiologists and has state-of-the-art technology. Our goal is to provide patients with the highest quality of MRI service, increased access and decreased waiting times.
We aim to develop a comfortable and trusting relationship with you. We encourage the involvement of your partner, children and/or other support people in your pregnancy and birthing experience. You will see your midwife throughout your pregnancy as you would your regular doctor. Your first booking visit will last roughly an hour and a half. Regular prenatal visits are 30 minutes in length, occur once per month up to 28 weeks, once every two weeks until 36 weeks and then once per week until birth. Your midwife will also visit you once at home around 36 weeks as one of your prenatal visits. Your midwives will attend your labour and birth and also then are the primary care providers responsible for both you and your baby. For the first week postpartum, we visit you either in hospital or at home after which regular clinic visits will follow for up to 6 weeks postpartum.
