Imperial Welding Ltd. was founded in 1992. We originally started as a structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication shop in Victoria, B.C. Imperial Welding Ltd moved to our present location (Chemainus, B.C.) in 1995. We have been a member of the Canadian Construction Association since 1992 and are CWB registered. Imperial owns all in-shop equipment necessary for fabrication. We are capable of handling projects up to 1800 tons.
Blackline Marine Inc. is a yacht repair company located in Canoe Cove Marina in Sidney, 30 KM north of victoria on southern Vancouver Island. Power and sail yachts up to 90 feet and 75 tons can be hauled and accommodated in our heated buildings or work yard. The first Vancouver Island sheet metal union was originally formed in Victoria on July 3, 1909, back then we were known as the Amalgamated Sheet Metal Workers International Alliance, Local 134. In March 1940, we became the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, Local 276. Today Local 276 carries on the tradition of representing the skilled men and women working in the sheet metal and roofing trades on Vancouver Island.
