The association is a community based, non-profit organization committed to social and economic development, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for citizens of the region. This is accomplished through meaningful partnership with the Irish Loop Development Board, local, regional, provincial and federal governments, sharing mandates for community and social development.SADA represents the communities of the Southern Avalon (Portugal Cove South, Biscay Bay, Trepassey, St. Shott's, St.Vincent's/St. Stephen's/Peter's River).

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your chiefs for the past year. During this time, the department continued to provide the same quality fire protection that it has provided for so many years. Through the hard work and dedication of its members, the department completed many projects during 2013. Most of these projects were geared toward maintaining or improving the services we provide to the community as well as providing for the overall safety of the firemen who provide those services.
