Ultimately the reservoir becomes sufficiently penetrated which yields a network of fissures and fractures which greatly enhance the inflow of hydrocarbons to the wellbore. No proppant is necessary as a hard (300MPa+ compressive strength), porous natural by-product is produced after the reaction which keeps the fractures open. To quantify, the affected zone measured radially from the wellbore can easily reach 180m - 365m.
