The Downtown Guelph Business Association is made up of over 450 businesses in the city's downtown core. These businesses represent our city's thriving retail, hospitality, service and professional sectors. The DGBA takes a leadership role in creating a vibrant and user-friendly environment downtown.
The Guelph Optimist Club Inc. was founded on June 27th, 1940. The Club is in District 46, Zone 11 within Optimist International Canada which covers the Mid-Western Ontario region. The Club was formed with the goal in mind of financially helping the Youth in the City of Guelph, Ontario. Through various means of fundraising including annual events such as Bike Rodeos, Easter egg hunts, Roast Beef dinners and Barbeques among other things. Throughout the years, the Guelph Optimist Club Inc. has helped sponsor four other Optimist Clubs in the region including in Cambridge, Eramosa, Grand Valley and a second club in Guelph, Guelph-Royal City.
