The Porcupine Health Unit has been helping people from Timmins to Moosonee and from Hearst to Matheson do that for over 70 years. We help through a variety of relevant and accessible programs and services. Over 120 staff in nine different offices deliver these programs and services. They include dental hygienists, speech-language pathologists, geneticists, nurse practitioners, public health nutritionists, dietitians, inspectors, public health nurses and health promoters. In the North there are approximately 121 public libraries representing Cities, Towns, Townships, Local Service Boards, First Nation Communities and Fly In Communities over a vast geographic area.  We endeavour to assist and provide services to encourage library development in some of Northern Ontario's most remote locations.
