She has been in practice since 1998, and has experience in a variety of settings, including private practice, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient mental health, and community agencies. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of New Brunswick (2001). She obtained her undergraduate degree at Mount Allison University (1992) and her Master's degree at Acadia University (1994).
