MoveUP represents about 12,000 union members at public and private sector companies in Western Canada. MoveUP members run our union. We operate under a democratic structure, with all union officers elected by the members in their workplace. All workers in Canada have a right to join a union. That right is protected under both federal and provincial law. MoveUP can help you and your fellow workers get fair wages, benefits and job protection, and help eliminate discrimination, harassment or intimidation in the workplace. Some examples of improvements MoveUP has helped members negotiate in their contracts are: fair wage rates, improvements to benefits (pension, dental, extended health, group life, etc.), job security, job opportunities, fair overtime pay and procedures, flex time and improvements to vacation time and sick pay, protection from workplace harassment and unjust firing.
