We are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Canadian Association of Automotive Engine Rebuilders Inc., a not-for-profit Corporation, meaning that E.R.I. is owned and controlled by the members. The Durham Branch is part of the Ontario Genealogical Society. Our branch started in 1982 and currently has nearly 300 members. We are located in Eastern part of the GTA, just an hour east of Toronto. Our branch takes in the following eight municipalities: City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, City of Oshawa, Muncipality of Clarington, Town of Scugog, Town of Uxbridge, Town of Brock.Our branch goal is to encourage, bring together and assist those interested in the pursuit of genealogy and family history in the Durham Region. Our members focus on preserving information that will be useful for anyone doing research on ancestors from the Durham Region. We also provide a sound base for researchers living here who have ancestors in other areas around the world.

We have assembled our business on the foundation of building trust and maintaining relationships with each and every client.
