Brescia is Canada's only women's university. We were founded in 1919 by the Ursuline Sisters, strong women of faith who are committed to social justice, community service, and the development of women. While our roots are in the Catholic faith, we are open to – and embrace – women of all faiths.Brescia is affiliated with Western University, the third-largest university in the province. That means you'll benefit from the small, supportive atmosphere at Brescia while still enjoying the resources Western has to offer.
McMaster's large, attractive campus, the interior of which is open only to pedestrians and cyclists, is at the western end of Lake Ontario. Nearby attractions include Cootes Paradise, the Bruce Trail, the Niagara Escarpment, the Waterfront Trail, and the Royal Botanical Gardens.
We are excited about where God is leading us in the future. We hope that this history conveys a sense of our continuing to move forward under the guidance of God's Spirit, as we strive to develop effective, evangelical Christian leaders, just as our predecessors trained leaders for their day and age.
We promote a positive, productive working and learning environment through the provision of expert, consultative human resource programs and services in support of the University's mission.
