The Stroke Recovery Association Barrie & District Chapter is a community-based support group dedicated to assisting stroke survivors and their families. We offer a range of programs designed to encourage recovery and improve quality of life, including chair exercises, pool programs, speech therapy, and social events. Dr. Julie Thurston ND has been serving the Barrie and Orillia area for over 14 years. She is a registered Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in Ontario and has completed additional licencing requirements which enables her to prescribe regulated substances that are available to Ontario Naturopaths such as bio-identical hormones and thyroid replacement. Dr. Julie ND offers her patients therapies (nutritional interventions, homeopathy, acupuncture, botanical medicine, bio-identical hormone replacement) that address the underlying causes of their health concerns. Although, she maintains a general naturopathic practice, she has developed strong clinical experience with women’s health, anti-aging and preventative care for active older adults. Digestive, hormonal and mental/emotional concerns are issues that Dr. Julie ND sees daily in her practice. She is accepting new patients of all ages.
