La Forchetta equals quality Italian fare, right in the heart of Little Italy. The renowned 600+ wine list is a perfect complement to such tasty items as Goat Cheese stuffed Portabellos, homemade Wild Mushroom Gnocchi and Australian rack of lamb. The Tuscan Style Chicken is a fan favourite.
Fresh from the bright lights of Miami (where the concept originated and another location is set to open in the fall), Cibo glows as spacious, upscale resto with lots to offer its King West clientele. This includes an extensive wine selection, plate-exceeding pizza pies and a warm nest of house-baked bread to start the adventure. Wine bar it might be, but Cibo is a spectacular choice for lovers of traditional Italian fare. Think polenta fries, a selection of salumeria and a stracciatella soup to set your engines racing. Many of the pastas are made on the premises here, and you can see them in their nascent glory at the pasta bar.
I went to a birthday party where we had a private menu. The food kept coming and it was all very flavourful. I would definitely go back next time I am in town. Read more
Cafe Diplomatico was first opened in 1968 by Rocco Mastrangelo Sr., shortly thereafter younger brother Paul came on board. The brothers envisioned having a typical Italian bar where Italian nationals could gather in the morning over coffee. At a time in Toronto when outdoor dining was almost unheard of, the sunny patio quickly caught on and now almost 4 decades later what started out as an innovation in the neighborhood has now set the standard. Over the years the popularity of the Diplomatico has caused the bar to expand into a full restaurant eventually taking over the store next door as well. The dip (as it is affectionately referred to by it's many regulars) has had staying power due to it's versatile & reasonably priced menu paired with it's comfortable & unpretentious atmosphere. Approaching 5 decades the restaurant is still owned by the Mastrangelo family, younger brother Paul now runs it with Rocco Mastrangelo Jr.

On April 8, 2011 we opened Trattoria Taverniti. Each day we are in the kitchen making our pomodoro sauce, meatballs, gnocchi, lasagna, chicken eggplant parmigiana, tiramisu, and other delicious foods - all from scratch.

A true Italian Trattoria located on Lansdowne Ave. just below St. Claire Ave. in Toronto. The idea behind the Big Ragu was to provide the neighbourhood with a relaxed venue for eating simple Italian food, cooked extremely well, accompanied by excellent wine, at a great price. At The Big Ragu, we are not particularly into trends and gimmicks. Home-made pasta, slow cooked braises, warm and cold salads, and classical desserts are our specialities.
