Originated In April Of 1977 As A Response To Our Community'S Demand For A Support Service For Those In Need Of A 'Listening Ear'. A Community Information Centre Was Developed To Help Community Members Access Information About The Range Of Health And Human Services Available In The South Simcoe Area. Since Then, Contact Has Continued To Assess Current And Future Trends Within Our Community In Order To Respond To The Needs Of Our Community Members.

On October 7th, 2013 Council approved and awarded a contract to Vaughn Paving Limited to undertake an intersection and streetscape improvements in the heart of King's City's historic commercial core. This project was made possible and encouraged through York Region's Municipal Streetscape Partnership Program

Emerald Ash Borer in GeorginaThe Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is a highly invasive insect that attacks, feeds on, and kills all species of healthy ash trees. EAB was first sighted in York Region in 2008, and is now found throughout the Region and much of southern Ontario. Over the next three to five years the Towns Parks & Facilities Division will be removing infested trees. Additional trees of a different species will be planted throughout Georgina, under the Georgina Tree Planting Program, during usual planting seasons in the fall and spring.
