Fiesta Farms is Toronto's largest independently owned grocery store and garden centre. What does that mean? It means we only have one store. But it's a big one. 'Largest' means we carry the range of products you'd expect from a chain. 'Independent' means we can choose what those products are-who makes them, where they come from, what's in them, their place in the local economy. Stuff like that. And we're pretty choosy. Partly because being choosy is good, and partly because it's good business. When we opened up over 20 years ago, we decided to focus on two things the big guys couldn't compete with: serving our local ethnic communities and supporting our local economy. Now those things are popular. And so are we! A visit to the store will let you know pretty quickly that we don't turn our nose up at anyone, but we tend to be particularly popular with folks who get more from food shopping than just a full larder.

Depression, anxiety, social phobia and other mental disorders are the result of distorted, irrational thought patterns. These habitual distortions in thinking, or automatic thoughts, can cause people to withdraw, panic, avoid situations or engage in other self-defeating or self-damaging behaviour. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) uses structured and directive techniques to alter dysfunctional thought patterns by weakening the connection between distressing situations and automatic reactions. Patients learns how to identify and manage irrational thoughts; to cope through controlled exposure. CBT combines two very effective forms of psychotherapy: cognitive therapy and behaviour therapy. Cognitive therapy helps you understand how certain patterns of thinking are causing and maintaining your symptoms. Distorted thinking influences our emotions and can lead us to feel depressed, anxious, and angry. By changing our distorted thoughts we can control our behaviours and feelings. Behaviour therapy weakens the connection between situations and the automatic reactions to them. Reactions such as withdrawing and isolating, avoiding situations, and engaging in other self-defeating or self-damaging behaviours, can cause depression, anxiety and other unpleasant feelings. Changing our behaviours we can control our thoughts and feelings. CBT can offer powerful tools to help you understand why it is what you do, and how to change and control the way you think, feel and behave
Steve Ferrara and Lisa Martin head up Well and Good with a group of dedicated volunteers. These artful enigmas have combined backgrounds in business, psychology, and design as well as a lifetime of professional experience in industries as far-ranging as film, fashion, marketing and teaching. The two were brought together by their shared belief that an organization built on passion for art, collaboration by artists and an initiative to engage the local community could not only thrive, but also reach like-minds universally across the globe. Steve began Well and Good in 2007 with this goal in his sights and when Lisa brought her drive and her zeal for connecting people to the endeavor in 2008.
