Francesco Murdocco knew from the time he was a young man that he wanted a coffee shop, a meeting place to call his own. Born in Calabria, Italy and raised in the Italian district in Montreal, in 1971 Francesco came to the beautiful city of Vancouver. In 1976, he established Caffee Calabria in the heart of Little Italy on Commercial Drive. There never has been a man more passionate about the bean than Francesco, the coffee genius of Vancouver.
Best place on the Drive for coffee and lunch. The sandwiches are amazing and the staff are the best. I’ve come for years with the family and am now introducing the grandchildren. They love the ice cream, sweets and decor. Do yourself a favour and visit during Christmas to see the place fully decorated.Read more
La Grotta Del Formaggio, a small Italian Deli filled with incredible products that could make anyone feel like they were standing in a store. It is here where Domenico also learned to appreciate food, seeing how the deli turned into a second home for him.To think that this all started by concentrating and focusing on high end hotels and restaurants, they now expanded their distribution network and supply large and independent retailers as well.
I love stopping by this place for a sandwich, the part I enjoy most is the fact that they put olive oil and vinegar on. The meat ball sandwiches are one of the best you'll ever taste. Read more

Amorosa Pasta House is a family business, which has been on the corner of Edmonds and Sixth Street for the past 20 years. We serve a variety of dishes all prepared fresh daily in-house. We have both dine-in and take-away options.
I absolutely love this place. The food is quite good, the portion sizes are generous, the prices are right, and the service is always friendly.
Speaking of portion sizes, I love their appetizers. They have some small appetizers which are priced relatively low which is wonderful. I don't want to spend 75% the cost of a meal for an appetizer so large that I'm not hungry for dinner any longer. Wish more places would offer appetizer portions like Amarosa.
There is a wide selection available so you'd be hard pressed to find something you don't like.
I'll be back.Read more

A winding stone staircase leads upward from bustling Robson Street to this celebrated Vancouver dining room, recognized for its contemporary Italian menu and award-winning wine cellar. The elegant marble bar is a central feature, accented by stone walls hung with original artworks, and punctuated with tall arched windows that open onto a secluded terrace. Housed in the private dining room, part of CinCin's value-driven wine collection is on display: deep and global with rare vintages, boutique finds, and an extensive half-bottle selection. An ingredient-driven, seasonal focus sets the tone for Chef Andrew Richadson's menu, with distinctive dishes embracing the traditions of Italy. Outstanding desserts and baked goods. Restaurant Director Richard Luxton and his service team choreograph unrivalled dining experiences, committed to their exemplary wine program and his own industry-leading service standards.
A great restaurant with a really cosy, warm atmosphere. Were there during our honeymoon and the staff was really pleasant. The food was very good, if a bit pricey. Tried one of the BC wines and was surprised by how good it was. Service could have been more attentive but was sincere and friendly when we got it. Would recommend you try it if only for the atmosphere and the foodRead more

Il Nido ("the Nest") is an oasis in the heart of the city, located in the historic Manhattan Court building. It offers a seasonal vine-covered patio to gather for the best wines from Italy and around the world, and of course the Northern Italian-inspired cuisine.
I had a great time at Café il Nido the other night. The Costoletta was fantastic! Grilled to perfection and fresh vegetables. The service was attentive and fast. Couldn't find anything to complain about!

I order from this location quite often. It is out of my way but I know they are good. Only complaint I have about them is the men working there are not friendly. Never smile and are not welcoming. I actually feel like I am a burden to them when I come in. Wasn't for the fact that I have came across a few terrible pizza places and they have good pizzas, I would stop buying from them due to the poor personalities and crappy customer service. Read more
