My husband and I join friends usually every Wednesday for coffee at this location. The staff is friendly and courteous. The washrooms are always neat and clean and the tables are clean. Coffee is not bad. They always have a pretty good selection of treats to eat.

PROS-- Best cupcakes I've ever had. Pictures of the cakes they make are Truly works of art. They have a great variety of wonderfully delicious flavours. Did a good job designing their building. Nice helpful staff! CONS--- price. $14 for 6 cupcakes. Seriously?? I mean I buy them as a treat but it's an extravagant treat. Location. Uptown- very little parking, awkward to get to, need to pay for parking, etc. I usually avoid uptown at all costs but have made a few rare exceptions to go there for a treat.

The griffin, also known as the griffon or gryphon, is a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head, wings and front legs of an eagle. Its origins can be traced back to Ancient Egyptian and Iranian sculptures as well as some Greek and Roman texts. Since the lion has been traditionally seen as king of the beasts and the eagle king of the birds, the griffin was considered an especially powerful, majestic creature known for guarding treasure and other priceless possessions.
Because of its noble legacy, the griffin is often denoted as a symbol of honour, strength, courage and leadership all attributes of our Canadian Armed Forces. As such, this is why we took the symbol and name of the Griffin for our establishment.
