Lyncrest Airport is owned and operated by the Springfield Flying Club. This allows us to grow and achieve our goal of being the best privately owned airport in Manitoba. Home to a variety of aircraft including restored vintage aircraft, amateur built planes and rotorcraft, it is also the base of operations for COPA Flight 35, RAA Winnipeg Chapter and EAA Chapter 63. Lyncrest Airport is located on a 180 acre site with ample room to tie-down over a hundred aircraft and available space for hangars.Built in the early 1950's by Donald Paterson of Paterson Grain Company, several businesses operated from the field until the land was sold to the City of Winnipeg in the early 1970's. The Springfield Flying Club continued to use it as an airport with a lease arrangement with the City of Winnipeg until they purchased the property in 1996. Since the purchase of the airport the membership of the SFC and hangar development have grown substantially.
